Dr. Olea showcases her research in ICET, Internet Studies
On meeting the demands of global education!
Uplifting professional growth and development in the field of research and studies, Dr. Marites D. Olea, college faculty, showcased her research under Management Information System in Internet Studies and International Conferences on Education and Technology (ICET) held at Bali, Indonesia, July 14-16 and Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel, Malaysia, Oct. 26-28.
Dr. Olea presented her output which is an offline game-based interactive instructional material the supports instruction and collaboration to be used in enhancing the student’s critical thinking and problem solving skills to achieve better intended learning outcomes.
Her study focuses on current practices in using Web 2.0 tools in 15 selected higher education institutions in CALABARZON in relation to communication and collaboration, creativity and innovation and instructional design. The study also underscores the level of acceptability of web-based technologies for classroom instruction as assessed by administrators, teachers and students. Moreso, the study highlights the level of seriousness of the problems met in the integration of web-based technologies relative to teacher’s preparation, curriculum content and administrative support.
This thesis paper by Dr. Olea was chosen and delivered in the parallel sessions on International Conference on Education and Technology (ICET) 2017 with the theme “Education and Technology: Towards Reengineering Education, Connecting People, and Developing Lives.”
The conference was participated by other researchers who passed for oral presentation from varied countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan Iran, Thailand and Singapore.
Aside from the oral presentations, another highlight of the conference was the talk about the following Research Journals for University Faculties by Djuwari, Ph. D. On the other hand, Dr. Olea underscored the application of Web 2.0 Tools in Teaching 21st Century Students in Higher Education in CALABARZON, Philippines during the oral presentations in 8th International Conference on Internet Studies, International Workshop on Marketing Research in Digital Age.
There were 60 submissions from 22 countries like Australia, Cambodia, China, Denmark, Hongkong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Oman, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, USA, Vietnam which underwent peer reviewed by at least two anonymous reviewers and a total of 32 papers were accepted in the presentation in the said conference. The said conference was sponsored by National Taipei University.
Dr. Olea is currently a member of International Association Scholarly Publishers, Editors and Reviewers, Inc.
Commission on Higher Education (CHED) granted her application in the Support for Paper Presentations in International Conferences, after submitting the necessary documents and meeting the qualifications that brought her in such conferences.
