SBC at 106: Continuing its mission in celebration of the foundation day
Celebrating as one, the St. Bridget College (SBC) community continued its mission of cherishing its legacy, shepherding with compassion and enkindling the fire of justice and peace as it commenced its 106th founding anniversary through different activities, Feb. 4.
With the theme “SBC sa ika-106 na Taon, Kasama/Kaagapay ang Kabataan sa Misyon”, Bridgetines from different departments gathered for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist led by Fr. Angel Pastor in gratitude for the continuous blessings for the whole institution and the triumphant years of the school upon establishment.
Afterwards, SBC students and some faculty members from grade school to college showed some of their groove and moves through their field demonstration followed by a community dance in the tune of “One in Mission,” the official theme song for the Year of the Youth.
In line with the celebration, Bridgetines proved their musical prowess in the first-ever “Battle of the Bands” participated by different competing bands composed of students from the Junior High School Department and the Senior High School Level.
The Traffic Jam Band was hailed as the champion composed of Erick Gabriel Reyes & Miguel Honorio Reyes of STEM 4 – Mo. Marguerite O’Keilley and Emmanuel James Musico & Sean Matthew Fernando Ubarro from HUMSS 2 – Sr. Mary Elizabeth O’Dowd.
Meanwhile, The Banding Band of STEM 2 – Mo. Dorothy O’Connor seated as the 2nd runner up represented by Anjelo Raphael Argente, Jhemier Stephen Ibanez, Kian Hendrix Manalo, Kian Troy Masilang, Isaac Gerald Alcantara, Vernice Ivan Cueto, and Adrian Josef Dimaano.
Film viewing at the Morrisey Hall and Grade School Conference Room, parlor games at the classrooms and magic show at the Holy Family hall were also held in celebration of the foundation day. As concluding rites, the second year of the President’s cup was launched.
