Pamana 2019: SHS welcomes new batch of potentials
The freshmen students entered a new chapter of their lives as the Senior High School (SHS) Level of St. Bridget College (SBC) welcomed them with warm approach through the conduct of Pamana 2019. This is an annual activity done by the upperclassmen to officially and gladly receive the new set of learners. The activity was held at the SBC College Lawn, June 17.
With the theme “Stay Hype in Mission, Seniors!”, the SHS level prepared various activities which started with a prayer service and a symbolic candle lighting ceremony, wherein the Grade 12 students lit candles and passed them to the Grade 11 students of their former sections.
Moreover, Dr. Dolores Borras, the SHS Principal, welcomed everyone for the new school year with her opening remarks. The hype was built as the hosts of the ceremony, Mr. Llander Joseph Illagan and Ms. Jonalyn Ortiz called each section for their own cheer to channel their energy and excitement.
The welcoming rite was concluded with the Grade 12 students giving their ‘’pamana’’, a customized ballpen to the new batch.
Moreover, a general orientation took place at the Manuela Q. Pastor Auditorium the following day, June 18. It started off with a quick introduction of the SHS administration, faculty and staff, and was followed by an overview of SHS Level as part of the K to 12 Curriculum, as presented by Dr. Dolores Borras.
Afterwards, Mrs. Grace Lorraine Pelingon, School’s Guidance Counselor and Mrs. Julieta Medrano, the Registrar gave “fast talks” regarding the services offered by their respective offices. The functions, rules, and services regarding the use of library was discussed by Mrs. Marissa Agtay, the SHS and College Level Chief Librarian. Furthermore, the orientation was concluded by Mrs. Geraldine Vergara, Prefect of Discipline as she gave a final discussion on the students’ behavior and the rules and regulation of the SHS Level.
