A Sneak Peek to Media Industry
To provide students an idea of what it is like to work in the media industry and to assist them in deciding on their future career, the Senior High School level of St. Bridget College conducted a career talk last October 13 via Zoom meeting.
The said webinar had Mr. Alan Ebora, a TV writer and producer, and an SBC alumnus as the guest speaker. He shared his inspiration in choosing his career path and his experiences while working in the field of media.
“Stories make sense of the world around us… Let’s continue telling and sharing meaningful stories,” Mr. Ebora said as he reminded the students to be critical and passionate in choosing their future careers.
Sir Alan, as he is fondly called also gave a detailed explanation about his career and his life as a travel program and television producer. He further shared the steps involved in producing a television show.
Before ending his talk, the students had an opportunity to ask the guest speaker several questions where he was able to recount some of his most memorable moments as a producer, discuss his thoughts on press freedom, and tell stories about the media personalities with whom he had the opportunity working with.
Mrs. Gemma Manalo, Humanities and Social Sciences Coordinator, thanked Mr. Ebora for giving his time and insights as the guest speaker. Mrs. Manalo then reminded the students that, when deciding on their future careers and pursuing their passions, they must also examine the purpose and meaning of their chosen path to be of great service to others.
