In a heartfelt celebration of service, commitment, and compassion, St. Bridget College honored its teaching personnel and licensed professional teachers during the Institutional Celebration of Teachers’ Day, October 12, 2026.

The event served as a meaningful tribute to educators whose unwavering dedication continues to shape the lives, values, and future of their students.

The celebration began with a Holy Mass at the SBC Chapel, presided over by Rev. Fr. Bartolome Villafranca.

In his homily, Fr. Villafranca reflected on the invaluable role of teachers in the holistic formation of students, emphasizing that educators serve not only as facilitators of learning but also as mentors, role models, and partners in nurturing character, faith, and lifelong values.

He also acknowledged the many sacrifices teachers willingly make in the fulfillment of their vocation, often placing the needs of their students above their own.

Some educators, he noted, have devoted their lives so completely to the profession that they chose not to marry, dedicating their time, energy, and care to shaping generations of learners.

Such selflessness, he emphasized, reflects the depth of a teacher’s commitment to serving others and making a lasting difference in the lives of young people.

Following the Eucharistic celebration, Ms. Lea Abacan, Basic Education Department Principal, warmly welcomed the faculty and staff and emphasized the selfless love and dedication that teachers consistently demonstrate in nurturing and guiding their students.

She also expressed gratitude for their resilience and commitment to shaping responsible, compassionate, and competent individuals despite the challenges that come with the profession.

A message of appreciation was likewise delivered by Dr. Bernadette I. Manalo, College President, who conveyed her profound gratitude to the institution’s teachers for their unwavering commitment to educational excellence.

She recognized the countless hours, effort, and sacrifices invested by educators in shaping the minds and hearts of students.

The celebration continued at the Kinder Activity Area, where faculty members gathered for a fellowship activity designed to honor and appreciate their contributions. The gathering featured exciting raffle draws, cash gifts, a wellness corner where teachers received wellness items such as vitamins and liniments, and a grazing table prepared for everyone to enjoy.

The activity provided an opportunity for teachers to relax, celebrate with colleagues, and experience the institution’s gratitude in a spirit of joy and camaraderie.

The program concluded with a closing message from Dr. Annalie D. Patena, College Dean, who expressed sincere appreciation to the teaching personnel for their dedication, passion, and commitment to their vocation. She reminded the faculty that their influence extends far beyond the classroom, touching lives and inspiring students to pursue their dreams and become responsible members of society.

Adding a special touch to the celebration was a message of appreciation from Sr. Mary Florencia Tio, RGS, who thanked the teachers for their invaluable service to the institution and for their faithful commitment to the Bridgetine mission of forming individuals rooted in faith, excellence, and service. She acknowledged the important role of educators in creating a nurturing environment where students can grow intellectually, morally, and spiritually.

The program was facilitated by Ms. Wendhyl Manalo and Mrs. Agnes Casao, whose guidance helped make the celebration both meaningful and memorable.

As the institution joined the global observance of Teachers’ Day, the celebration served as a fitting reminder that teaching is more than a profession but a vocation marked by dedication, sacrifice, and genuine concern for the growth and well-being of others.
