St. Bridget College appointed Mrs. Lea B. Abacan as the new Basic Education Principal and Mrs. Jesabel A. Medina as the new Basic Education Assistant Principal, marking a new leadership team for the institution’s Basic Education Department this School Year 2026-2027.
Mrs. Abacan assumes the role of Basic Education Principal and will oversee the academic and administrative operations of the department. Working alongside her, Mrs. Medina takes on the position of Basic Education Assistant Principal, supporting the implementation of school programs and student formation initiatives.
The appointments were announced to the Bridgetine community as part of the school’s preparations for the new academic year. Faculty members, students, parents, alumni, and other stakeholders welcomed the new administrators as they begin their respective roles.
As members of the Basic Education leadership team, Mrs. Abacan and Mrs. Medina will work with teachers, staff, and the school community in carrying out the institution’s mission of providing Catholic education grounded in faith, service, and academic excellence.
The appointments come as St. Bridget College enters a new chapter in its leadership. The transition follows the appointment of Dr. Bernadette I. Manalo as the College’s first lay President, succeeding Sr. Maria Añanita Borbon, RGS, PhD, who has begun her new mission as Spirituality Center Director at the Mother House and Coordinator of the Congregational Community of Sisters in Angers, France.
