Girl Scouts of the Philippines representatives from St. Bridget College took part in the Global Youth Summit 2026 on August 25, 2026, at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall, Pasay City.
The summit brought together young people from different groups to share ideas and learn from speakers from different fields. The event focused on topics such as leadership, personal growth, communication, and the role of young people in the community.
The program was opened by Echo Sala and featured a performance by NU Dance Company. Messages were also given by Royston Cabuñag, Program Director of SM Cares for Children and Youth; Hon. Imelda Calixto-Rubiano, Mayor of Pasay City; and Ingill Ra, Regional President of Global Peace Foundation Philippines.
Several speakers were invited to share their experiences. These included actress Dimples Romana, marketing manager Sarah Caringal, wellness advocate Aaron Maniego, and journalist Anna Karmina Constantino-Torres.
Romana talked about how people have different paths in life. She reminded the youth to respect and recognize the skills of other people. Caringal shared how her experiences helped her create the design of Block 513 of Bravefoods.
Maniego also shared stories about his journey and the changes he made in his life. Torres talked about journalism and the importance of being able to communicate with people. She explained that journalists do more than write because they also need to make sure that people understand and feel the story being told.
Some Bridgetine Girl Scouts involved in journalism gained valuable insights from Torres and Sophia Nobleza, journalist from Inquirer.net. The journalist encouraged young people to continue learning and improving their skills.
The Girl Scouts’ participation gave them a chance to meet other young people, listen to different experiences, and learn about different ways they can help their school and community.
The summit ended with the message that young people can make a difference through their choices, skills, and actions. The Bridgetine Girl Scouts brought home lessons from the event that they can use in their activities and daily lives.
