Bridgetine student journalists secured top ranks at the ASMEPPS Journalism Workshop & Pre-Regional Contests on September 12, 2026, at the Immaculate Conception Academy – South Campus in Dasmariñas City, Cavite.
Representing the Lumière Publication of the Senior High School Level, the students competed in various science writing and photojournalism categories.
Ryllah Kryzl S. Untalan placed first in Science Creative Writing (English), while Kyla Mikaela A. Dilag and Mara Mae C. Luya each secured first place in Science News Writing (English) and Science News Writing (Filipino), respectively.
In Science Photojournalism, Mayessa Julia D. Duag took first place, while Andres Nicolas P. Ebora placed third.
Meanwhile, Christia Angela B. Son and Jaedin Kristopher U. Declaro both won first place in Science Feature Writing (English) and Science Feature Writing (Filipino), respectively.
Before the pre-regional contest proper, participants underwent a category-specific seminar-workshop covering key skills in science journalism, from photo composition and accurate caption writing to developing human angles and making scientific concepts accessible in feature stories.
