In observance of the Lenten season, St. Bridget College administrators, faculty, staff, and maintenance devoted time for prayer and meditation in a two-day Lenten activity, March 25-26, 2024.

Five buses loaded with more than 200 Bridgetine pilgrims visited Regina Rosarii Institute for Contemplation in Asia (RICA) in Tanay, Rizal to honor the passion of Christ in the Stations of the Cross.

Fourteen groups reflected on the way of the cross as they journeyed on each of the fourteen stations leading to the 71-foot tall statue of the Queen of the Holy Rosary.

They also gathered together with other pilgrims in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 11:00 AM.

Reflecting on the seven last words of Jesus on the cross, each of the group members took part in the sharing session.

With their respective facilitator, they pondered on and shared their real-life experiences and reflections on the guide questions relevant to the last words.

They also captured the essence of their sharing using a symbol and a prayer which they offered in the closing liturgy at the SBC Chapel.

Among the symbol offerings were chain of handkerchiefs, bougainvilla, crucifix, soil, twig, and thorn.

‘Pabasa ng Pasyon’, another popular Catholic Lenten devotion, started at 10 in the evening.

Different groups from SBC departments and offices took turns in leading the recitation or singing of the passion story of Jesus.

Aside from the RGS sisters, faculty, staff and maintenance, some retirees also attended ‘Pabasa ng Pasyon’.

The overnight activity lasted for 15 hours as it ended at 1:00 PM.

The Institutional Faculty and Staff Association (IFSA), with the full support of entire SBC community led by the College President, Sr. Ma. Añanita Borbon, RGS PhD, organized the event.
