In a heartfelt celebration of faith and solidarity, the St. Bridget College (SBC) community gathered to commemorate the 229th birthday of St. Mary Euphrasia, foundress of the Religious of the Good Shepherd Congregation, July 31, 2025.
With the theme “A Celebration of Padayon: The Mission Continues”, series of activities were conducted to honor her life, mission, and legacy.
The program, titled USAD ni Euphrasia – Ugnayan, Sayaw, Awit at Dasal, featured presentations that showcased the students’ talents. Members of the Institutional Culture and Arts Program (ICAP) reflected the spirit of unity and purpose that St. Mary Euphrasia inspired in their performances at the SBC Gymnasium.

Furthermore, a mini-exhibit titled “A Journey of the Heart” was held at the SBC Chapel. This invited visitors to explore the rich history and impact of St. Mary Euphrasia’s work. It also served as a visually engaging tribute to her enduring legacy.
Another highlight of the day was the blessing of the new College Dormitory, located on the third floor of the SMAO Building. The new space is designed to be a place of welcome, peace, and friendship for both students and guests, reinforcing the college’s commitment to fostering a supportive community.
Moreover, a symbolic commitment ritual took place in each of the departments. This featured the tying of a mission ribbon to a mission tree. This act represented both personal and communal dedication to continue the legacy of St. Mary Euphrasia and served as an outward sign of the inward devotion to compassionate service.

As part of the celebration, a special viewing of St. Mary Euphrasia: The Musical was also conducted on August 1, 2025. This offered an artistic interpretation of her life and contributions to the community.
St. Mary Euphrasia, a French religious sister, dedicated her life to the service of the marginalized and the establishment of the Congregation of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd. Her legacy continues to inspire generations, and the celebration of her birthday serves as a reminder of the ongoing mission to serve with love and compassion.
