With the theme “Parents, Our Stars: A Celebration for Our Guiding Lights” embodying their intent to express their heartfelt gratitude for continuous support provided, Bridgetine students from the graduating classes of the Junior High School Department enthusiastically showcased a special presentation dedicated to their parents and guardians during the Parents and Guardians Appreciation Day at the Manuela Q. Pastor Auditorium, SBC, Batangas City, March 27, 2026.

The program commenced with an opening prayer led by Ciara Gabrielle M. Minglana, the BISA-Execom Vice President, the selected Grade 10 students who led the singing of “Hallelujah,” and the singing of the National Anthem.

Formally initiating the beginning of the program, Dr. Bernadette I. Manalo, BED principal, delivered the opening remarks. She welcomed the guests who attended

the event and spoke of the purpose of the presentation that day, highlighting the significance of their performance.

Following the opening remarks, the inspirational message was said by SBC College President, Sr. Ma. Añanita Borbon, RGS, Ph.D., who encouraged the students through her words, further emphasizing the importance of the performance that was about to be showcased.

The presentations of each class soon began, each performance being inspired by a certain Broadway Musical. The first to come forward to the stage was Service whose presentation was themed after “Matilda,” then Courage whose performance was inspired by “Annie.” Justice came next, bringing the themes of “Mamma Mia!” to the stand and Nationalism soon followed with an act inspired by “Fiddler on the Roof”. Perseverance brought the premises of “The Addams Family” to light with their performance, with Generosity following with a presentation themed by the musical “Rent.” Finally, Compassion brought forward an act with the ideas of “Dear Evan Hansen.”

With the exemplary performances of each section finishing on a bright note, the next segment of the program surrounded the Parents’ Responses. The first parent who came forward was Mrs. Lourdes L. Pesigan, the mother of Andrea Lei Pesigan, who expressed that character is more important than achievements, having always told her children about such values. The second parent was Mr. Vener C. Macatangay, the father of Maria Kendra Macatangay, who mentioned the struggles he had experienced as a father, including the difficulty in picking up and dropping off for ICAP rehearsals, as well as extending financial support for student activities.

After listening to the parents’ responses, the Grade 10 students came together to sing “You’ll Be In My Heart” in dedication to the parents and guardians who have always supported them throughout their academic journey.

Following the heartfelt song rendition, the students were provided the opportunity to give tokens of appreciation to their parents and guardians. This token was in the form of a lighted lamp, with the quote by St. Mary Euphrasia “Create a home where each family member feels valued, protected, and part of something greater,” inscribed on the lamb. On the box which contains it, another quote is written from Robert Brault — “A parent’s love is whole no matter how many times divided.”

With the gratitude of the Bridgetines symbolized by the simple giving of tokens coming to an end, all Junior High School teachers and faculty come to the stage for a special surprise dance number.

As the program nears its end, the closing remarks were delivered by BED Assistant Principal, Mrs. Lea B. Abacan, who says “You are guided, you are loved, and you are meant to shine,” to the Grade 10 students. She also thanked their parents and guardians for a celebration that is both meaningful and truly unforgettable.

As the program reaches its conclusion, the closing prayer was led by Thalia Vannah Franceis T. Israel, BISA-Execom President, and the final acknowledgements were extended to all who made the program possible.

“Parents and guardians appreciation day is genuinely a meaningful occasion because it recognizes the unseen sacrifices, efforts, and unwavering support that our parents and guardians have quietly given throughout our academic journey. It reminds me that my achievements over the past four years at St. Bridget College are not mine alone, but are shared with my beloved parents—whose constant encouragement, financial support for projects, and countless “hatid-sundos” made my education possible. This celebration is truly special to me, as it allows us all to commemorate and honor them while reminding me to remain grateful, appreciative, and loving toward my family.” Nichole Gabrielle Cataquis, 10-Service, states when asked of the significance of the occasion.

The mark of stability is the state of the foundation, and with the continuous support of their parents and guardians, the Bridgetine soon-to-be graduates will certainly continue to let their light shine.
