To commemorate the Feast Day of St. John Eudes, St. Bridget College lay mission partners with their families, and RGS sisters celebrated Family Day at SBC Gymnasium, St. Bridget College, Batangas City, August 19, 2024.

The activity was designed to strengthen bond among families as they reflect on the inspiring life of St. John Eudes, founder of the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity of the Refuge and the Congregation of Jesus and Mary. His legacy served as an inspiration for St. Mary Euphrasia, the foundress of the Religious of the Good Shepherd Sisters.

The highlights of the activity included the celebration of the Holy Eucharist and the awarding of lay mission partners who inspired their loved ones to continue serving the mission at St. Bridget College. Rev. Fr. Cyrus Banaag Gonzales, OSJ, presided over the Mass.

The awardees were Mr. Geronimo Ilagan, Mrs. Lily Panganiban, Mr. Andres Dimaano, and Mr. Dionisio Dimaano.

In her message, Sr. Ma. Añanita Borbon, College President, expressed her joy and gratitude to everyone for helping realize the event’s objectives.

To add fun and excitement, participants showcased teamwork and cooperation during a volleyball game, trying to set the large, colorful inflatable ball over the net.

Attendees also enjoyed the raffle, photo booth, and “bring me” activities. Everyone was delighted with the taho, ice cream, sandwiches, fries, and lunch prepared for the event.

The event was organized in coordination with the Institutional Faculty and Staff Association, the Liturgy Committee, the Celebration Committee, the Human Resource Management and Development Office, and the Center for Formation and Praxis Office.

Meanwhile, Bridgetines commemorated the feast day of St. John Eudes with a triduum prayer in each department, August 14 -16, 2024.

St. John Eudes was canonized in 1925 by Pope Pius XI.
