In line with the celebration Pondong Batangan’s 25th year, Pondong Batangan conducted a relaunching activity with a theme, “Hope in Actions: Bridgetines Leading with Purpose and Passion” in the Basic Education Department (BED). The event took place on August 16 at the SBC Gymnasium and was organized by Mrs. Mary Ann D. Almacin, CLVE/GMRC Coordinator.
The program featured engaging presentations from Fr. Federico Magboo and Rev. Fr. Mar Andreen Castillo, who spoke about the power of giving. They highlighted how even the smallest donations can lead to significant changes, such as scholarships, job creation, and support for the sick. “The joy of giving is not measured by the size of the donation but by the collective impact of simple contributions,” Fr. Magboo emphasized.
Fr. Magboo encouraged students to contribute to Pondong Batangan by praying for the program and donating even the smallest coins. He underscored that this effort is more than just a collection; it is a vital component of Aral Batangueno.
Mrs. Monina Villanueva discussed the achievements of Pondong Batangan, noting that it has already supported over 100 scholars. She reminded students of their role in this initiative by stating, “Nakakapag paaral na rin kayo ng mga kabataan sa college sa tulong ng Pondong Batangan”
The event included an inspiring audio-visual presentation featuring Ms. Virnadeth Polia, a college student who shared her experiences as a beneficiary of Pondong Batangan’s scholarships. Her story highlighted the tangible benefits of the program.
Furthermore, the atmosphere was further energized by the surprise appearance of Kapitan Tibyo, who interacted with the students and shared the deeper meaning behind his name, “TIBYO.” The event concluded with a photo opportunity with Kapitan Tibyo.
Attended by Bridgetines from Grades 4 to 8, the celebration emphasized the importance of continued support for Pondong Batangan as it approaches its 25th year in 2025. The relaunching event not only celebrated past achievements but also inspired the next generation to contribute to this meaningful cause.
