Demonstrating their prowess in technological innovation and academic excellence, Bridgetine Information Technology (IT) student-researchers and faculty bagged awards at the Association of Philippine Private School Administrators and Mentors (APPSAM) 6th National Research Forum, themed, “Learning Across Levels: A Research Forum for Knowledge Exchange and Excellence,” at the Philippine Cultural College, Tondo, Manila, March 10.

In the student category, two capstones stood out the national panel, each tackles real-world problems with innovative digital solutions.

“TAPMOKO: Mobile Application for Real-Time Emergency Response,” an application aiming to streamline a seamless emergency communication, clinched Rank 3 for Best Research. Authored by Jed A. Bisa, Frederick Axel R. Ibon, Diane D. Ebora, and Cedric V. Samarita (all BSIT 4), their abstract also secured Rank 3 for Best Abstract.

In systems management, the capstone “SBC LibConnect: A Web-based Library Management System” showcased the technical prowess of Eugene Roy D. Pacquiao and Dia Belaiza H. Bajio (both BSIT 4), who were awarded Rank 3 for Best Presenters.

Other notable participants featured student-researchers Godwin Jedd M. Marasigan and James Andrei D.C. Calansa (both BSIT 4), who presented “PastoLearn”, a web-based Learning Management System (LMS) designed to further enhance the digital classroom experience.

In the Faculty category, the College Department mirrored the same excellence they have given to their students.

Mr. Ace Zheridan S. Gutierrez delivered an excellent performance. The study that he conducted with fellow researchers, Mrs. Maria Grace D. Andal, and Dr. Imelda B. Vergara, titled, “Implementation of Safeguarding Principles and Policies: Perspective for Policy Enhancement Strategies,” bagged First Place for Best Abstract and Second Place for Best Research. Moreover, Mr. Gutierrez shone brightly, as he secured Second Place for Best Presenter.

This day-long event began on an inspiring note, highlighting research as the foundation of innovation and progress.

APPSAM President Dr. Sining Kotah delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the significance and the goals of the forum, quoting Albert Einstein, “The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.”

This was followed by the Research Congress Orientation proper, facilitated by Research Forum Chairperson and APPSAM Managing Director Dr. Loureli Carreon Siy. Consequently, the announcement of winners was delivered by Dr. Dana Tebia, Chairman of the Board of Judges.

The research forum ended with gratitude and congratulations, as Dr. Kotah delivered her closing message, addressing her heartfelt thanks to the organizing team.

With 17 participants grouped into Senior High School, Tertiary, and Faculty clusters, the Bridgetine IT Researchers’ success at the APPSAM National Research Forum testifies St. Bridget College’s commitment to fostering a culture of inquiry and building a community anchored in progress.
