A blend of spiritual reflection, joyful entertainment, and community collaboration!

These words captured the vibrant celebration of the 112th founding anniversary of St. Bridget College Batangas, February 4, 2025.

With the theme, “Pilgrims of Hope: Letting our Light Shine in the Jubilee Year”, Bridgetines and guests gathered as a community for a variety of activities designed to foster active engagement in honoring the institution’s historical roots and looking forward to a hopeful future.

The event kicked off with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at the Pastor’s Field, where Rev. Fr. Angel Marcelo Pastor served as the mass presider.

In his homily, Fr. Angel highlighted key points that resonated deeply with the event’s theme, encouraging attendees to reflect on their spiritual journeys as pilgrims and the importance of hope in their lives.

He also encouraged everyone to be witnesses of God’s light to others and in the community.

Following the mass, the celebration transitioned into a morning of fun, entertainment, and camaraderie.

In her opening message, Sr. Ma. Añanita Borbon, RGS, PhD, college president, emphasized the 112th foundation year as a time of renewal of faith and hope.

With the celebration of the founding anniversary in the Jubilee Year, she pointed out that it is the time to renew faith and share it with others.

“It is also the time to foster solidarity and care for the environment, seek God’s mercy and forgiveness, restore hope and trust, and recover a sense of universal fraternity”, Sr. Anya highlighted.

In the presentations prepared for the event, the festive musical production of Performing Arts Office – Institutional Culture and Arts Program (PAO-ICAP) showcased their talents and creativity.

On the other hand, the flash mob of the college students captivated the audience with their lively and entertaining music and dance.

Other performances which brought the community together in joyful celebration were the NPK presentation, mini-concert of Cloud 9 and SBC Sesyonistas, duet of SHS students and PAO-RB, and PAO_ICAP collab production number.

Adding to the excitement, an exhibition game was held at the SBC Gymnasium as part of the Sports Fest for lay mission partners and invited guests.

This event featured basketball and volleyball matches, bringing together players from St. Bridget College, St. Bridget College Alitagtag, local priests, and alumni.

The friendly competition highlighted the spirit of collaboration and unity that has defined the Bridgetine community throughout its history.

The event concluded with the awarding of certificates to the participants of the sports events, celebrating their achievements and acknowledging their contributions to the college community. A special photo opportunity allowed attendees to capture memories of this significant day, symbolizing their shared journey of hope and light.

As participants left with smiles and cherished memories, the celebration embodied the essence of letting one’s light shine in this jubilee year and reaffirmed the enduring spirit that has shaped the college’s journey for over a century.
