With emphasis on fostering a spirit of collaboration, inspiration, and innovation,  St. Bridget College conducted Student Research Forum, at Mary Dominica Function Hall, BED Collaboratorium, and Clare Morrisey Hall, SBC, Batangas City,  January 8, 2025.

Under the theme “Cultivating Innovation: Pathways to a Transformative Research Culture,” the forum aimed to provide opportunities for student researchers to present their research, hone communication skills, inspire through the recognition of research value, nurture engagement within the academic community, and empower students by strengthening their commitment to scholarly endeavors.

A total of 102 students from the senior high school and college departments showcased their research presentation skills as they discussed their studies on various topics ranging from innovative technological solutions to teaching-learning process as well as community development efforts.

The day kicked off with an inspiring keynote address from Dr. Noelah Mae Borbon, the Campus Research Coordinator at National University Philippines – Lipa Campus. Her emphasis on ways to cultivate ad the pathways to a transformative research culture set a motivational tone for the day.

The event highlighted the research presentation in which participants engaged in concurrent sessions, where they presented a variety of projects, demonstrating the diverse interests fueling academic inquiry.

It also featured a range of awards to honor both individual and group achievements. The title, Best Individual Presenter, was awarded to Marc Angelo Acuzar (SHS); Paolo Loiuse D. Ramirez (BSBA); Rosa Micah Gutierrez (BSSW); Carl Angelo C. Araño (BSIT); Julius B. Dela (BSED/BPED); and Jimmvell C. Castillo (BEED). They stood out for their compelling presentations and for demonstrating knowledge of the content, communication skills, clarity of presentation, and manner of delivery.

In the category of Best Group Presenters, several projects received recognition for their innovative approaches and thorough research.

The teams that were recognized included Godfrey B. Abag, Simon Gabriel M. Azucena, Mary Divine M. Cadungog, Celestine Marian Yzebell M. Cruzat, Ashleigh Reign M. Rosales, presenters of “Scrap Cauliflower as Shampoo for Hair Loss”; Grace Annabelle R. Mandigma, Mark Jim M. Abanador, Angeline S. Ang, Nowen Kyle M. Jaen, Ralph Lawrence D. Torino, authors of “Effects of Online Selling on the Business Operations of Vendors in the Old and New Market”, and Rosa Micah Gutierrez, Hazel Mae C. Aquino, Yeddah Joy D. De Guzman, Maria Krisanta V. Gabriola, Kristelle Rose M. Macalalad, researchers of  “Efficacy of Agricultural Cooperative for Sustainable Livelihood in Brgy. Soro-Soro, Batangas City”.

Other team winners were Carl Angelo C. Araño, Lance Frederick C. Hao, Kian Charles A. Muyco, and Trisia Mae P. Ponteres for their research “POSProcast: Point of Sales and Inventory System for Edu. Hub in Saint Bridget College”; Jimmvell C. Castillo, Eliza Benice D.  Aldovino, Alea S. De Gracia, and Nezza  D. Dimatulac for their research “Navigating the Peaks: Uncovering the  Hurdles Faced by Mountain Teachers”, and Marbelyn L. Barbosa, Hazel Mae Aguarin, Riza D. Deterala, Jenny D. Panganiban, and Maria Joyce D. Silang for their research “The Verbal Odyssey: An Expedition to the Struggles of Select College Students of a Private School in the Art of Public Expression”.

The Best Research Proposal was awarded to “Scrap Cauliflower as Shampoo for Hair Loss” of Godfrey B. Abag, Simon Gabriel M. Azucena, Mary Divine M. Cadungog, Celestine Marian Yzebell M. Cruzat, Ashleigh Reign M. Rosales.

Aquino, Yeddah Joy D. De Guzman, Maria Krisanta V. Gabriola, and Kristelle Rose M. Macalalad; and “The Verbal Odyssey: An Expedition to the Struggles of Select College Students of a Private School in the Art of Public Expression” of Marbelyn L. Barbosa, Hazel Mae Aguarin, Riza D. Deterala, Jenny D. Panganiban, and Maria Joyce D. Silang, as well as “Mother Tongue-Based Instruction in Learning Acquisition of Indigenous Public Elementary School Students” of Marianne O. Taroma, Rose Anne F. Fajil, and Maria Angela A. Ramirez

The Student Research Forum is an annual research event which does not only celebrate the achievements of student researchers but also reinforced the importance of research in fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

The Institutional Research, Planning and Publications Office, headed by Dr. Imelda B. Vergara, together with the Research Committee members namely Mrs. Lea Abacan, Mrs. Kristine Jabat, Mrs. Filipina Macaraeg, and Ms. Veronica Claire Aquino, collaborated and shared efforts to facilitate the conduct of the said event.
